BOTTOM DEPOSITS

Chemical

For sampling depending on the research tasks and schemes of sampling are applied bottom samplers, dredges, etc.

The material of the working bodies of sediment sampling devices (directly in contact with the sample) must not change the composition of the sample.

Sample storage vessels must be hermetically sealed. Wide-necked vessels made of chemically resistant glass or plastics such as teflon and high-pressure polyethylene with hermetically sealed lids or thermoses can be used for storing samples.

Sample weight must be at least 1 kg.

Store in containers made of chemically neutral material.

If the temperature is above 4-5 °C store for 2 days.

At temperatures below -20 °C store up to 30 days.

Dry residue, calcined dry residue

Sample weight must be at least 1 kg.

Samples are stored in glass containers with a tightly closed lid for no more than 3 days at a temperature of (4-8)°C.

Total alkalinity

Alkalinity free

Sample weight must be at least 1 kg.

Determination is carried out no later than 6 hours after sampling. Sample is not preserved. When sampling liquid samples, the container is filled to the top so that there are no air bubbles left. During transportation, samples should be protected from heating.

Cyanides

Samples are taken in containers (jars) of dark glass with a ground-glass or tightly screwed lid, filling the container under the top. Weight of the sample taken must be at least 100 g.

Store in containers made of chemically neutral material.

If the temperature is above 4-5 °C store for 2 days.

At temperatures below -20 °C store up to 30 days.

Bacteriological, Parasitological

Sample weight must be at least 1 kg.

At a temperature from 4 °C to 5 °C no more than 24 hours

Radiological

Sample weight must be at least 1 kg.

Store in containers made of chemically neutral material.

If the temperature is above 4-5 °C store for 2 days.

At temperatures below -18 °C - up to 30 days.

Toxicological

Sample weight must be at least 1 kg.

Samples are analyzed no later than 12 hours from the moment of sampling. If this condition cannot be met, samples are stored in a refrigerator in containers with tightly closed lids for up to one week at a temperature of (+2) to (+4)°C. Conservation is not allowed
